Corps awards $260 million border barrier contract

PHOENIX, Ariz.--U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Barrier awarded a $260.5 million firm-fixed-price contract Nov. 6 to BFBC LLC, Bozeman, Montana, for the barrier wall on the Barry M. Goldwater Range land in Arizona along the U.S. southern border. Five bids were solicited with four bids received. Work will be performed in Yuma, Arizona, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 12, 2020.

The Department of Defense has the authority under Section 2808 of Title 10, U.S. Code, to construct border barrier projects from California to Texas, as directed through the U.S. Army by the Secretary of Defense, in response to the Presidential national emergency declaration dated Feb. 15, 2019.
