PHOENIX, Ariz.--U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Task Force Barrier awarded a $55.8 million firm-fixed-price contract Nov. 19 to CJW Joint Venture of Santa Ana, California, for the San Diego 4 Barrier Project in San Diego, California, along the U.S. southern border.
The Department of Defense has the authority under Section 2808 of Title 10, U.S. Code, to construct border barrier projects from California to Texas, as directed through the U.S. Army by the Secretary of Defense, in response to the Presidential national emergency declaration dated Feb. 15, 2019.
